Our Approach

The Reggio Emilia Approach

The Reggio Emilia Approach

At its core, the Reggio approach believes that children are resourceful social beings who have rights and who should be given a fair opportunity to develop their full potential. As a method, it centres the social and communal aspect of education, standing true to its original vision to improve human society by helping children realise their full potential as intelligent, creative, whole persons.

The school therefore is a living organism which interacts with the people within - not only capable of evolving, but actively promoting change and variation. Filled with natural materials and muted tones, our space is engaging but not overwhelming. Reggio Emilia classrooms provide the opportunity for children to split into small groups and participate in various different activities.

Forest School Singapore

Forest School.

Forest Schooling is a long-term outdoor education process that is holistic and child-led. It allows children to develop themselves through healthy engagement with risk, problem-solving and self-discovery, all within a natural environment in a hands-on and thoughtful manner. When we are not at the forest, our learning environment is always alive and offers a unique experience each day.

Children spend hours outdoors daily - rain or shine. This allows them to experience the ever-changing landscape, weather, flora and fauna. They also have the opportunity for storytelling and story-making as part of their weekly Forest Classroom visits. Living in tune with nature fosters an inner feeling of well-being and contentment within them.

Sustainable Education

Sustainability education addresses the ongoing capacity of Earth to maintain all life; reducing waste, minimising consumption and protecting and conserving wildlife and natural habitats. We at Nurtured Nest embed sustainability throughout our practices: from the management to the curriculum and through the relationships with our community. By doing so, we provide numerous opportunities for young children to act as agents of change. Sustainable patterns of living meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. We support our children to be responsible and respectful towards the environment.
