A Tale of Tadpoles: Exploring Ecology & Environmental Sustainability

At Nurtured Nest, we believe that education is more than just what happens within the four walls of a classroom. It's about fostering a deep connection with the world around us and instilling a sense of responsibility for its care and preservation. That's why a significant focus of our curriculum is on Ecology & Environmental Sustainability, where children are encouraged to explore, observe, and engage with the natural world in meaningful ways.

Recently, our children made an exciting discovery in our pond – a cluster of tadpoles! Instead of simply observing from a distance, they decided to take their learning a step further. Armed with magnifying glasses and notebooks, they embarked on a journey to study the growth and development of these tiny creatures. Alongside this hands-on experience, children read books on frogs, learned about their lifecycle, and even discovered what to feed them. Some tadpoles were brought into their classroom to study up close, providing an intimate understanding of these fascinating creatures.

At Nurtured Nest, we believe that curiosity is the key to learning. By encouraging children to ask questions, make observations, and explore their surroundings, we foster a sense of wonder that ignites a lifelong passion for learning. When children are given the opportunity to engage with the natural world in this way, they develop a deep appreciation for its beauty and complexity.
